Our first official step into the lifestyle was a hotel takeover—and it was exhilarating in every possible way. I felt like a cocktail of emotions: nervous, excited, curious, and slightly panicked, all shaken together with a twist of “what the hell are we doing?!”
I had tried to prepare, of course. I Googled. I read blogs. I spiraled a bit with anxiety-fueled research… and still, I felt like I had no real idea what we were walking into. There just didn’t seem to be a clear, unfiltered guide to what actually happens at these things.
Luckily, I had connected with another woman online who was also planning to attend. Having even one familiar face to look out for eased my nerves and made everything feel a little more manageable.
Arrival: Nerves Meet Warmth
We arrived at the hotel, walking in with pounding hearts and cautious excitement. To my surprise—and relief—we were greeted with genuine warmth. The energy was friendly, open, and inviting. It wasn’t intimidating like I feared—it felt like walking into a space where everyone was just happy to be free, real, and welcomed.
People were mingling, smiling, and introducing themselves with ease. We found ourselves engaged in conversations with all kinds of wonderful people, asking questions, listening, learning, and slowly letting go of the tension we walked in with.
The Unexpected Joy of a “Normal” Experience
When it came time to explore the rooms, we had no expectations. Truly—we were open, curious, and just… seeing what happened. One room had a massage table and a group of people giving collaborative, respectful massages.
That felt manageable. Normal. Sensual without being overwhelming.
So, I decided to give it a try—and it was amazing. It felt safe, relaxing, and strangely natural to be touched in a setting that celebrated connection without pressure.
Overstimulated… But in the Best Way
As the night progressed, I didn’t “do” much beyond observing and absorbing—but I was exactly where I needed to be. The sights, the sounds, the vibe of the entire event—it was a lot. But it wasn’t scary. It was intriguing. And liberating.
I left that night with no regrets and no questions about whether we belonged in the lifestyle. It wasn’t about checking off boxes or jumping into anything right away. It was about presence, curiosity, and real connection—with others and with each other.
Looking back now, that first night will always hold a special place in our journey. It wasn’t perfect. It wasn’t wild. But it was ours. And it was the beginning of something that continues to unfold in beautiful, unexpected ways.
